My name is Stephanie, but you can just call me Steph. My primary medium is digital art, with an emphasis on digital illustrations and pixel art. I dabble in game-making too! I explore girly themes in my work, such as girlhood and female friendships. Feminine stories are just as critical to the world asphilosophical works and if you don’t think that’s true, I hope my work can convince you otherwise. I’d never dismiss anything for being too “pink” or too “cute”!

From a young age, I have gravitated towards computers. I could turn on a computer by myself at the age of three and I could easily install games on it as well. When I was 8, I decided to be an artist. Once I was in high school, I was using the computer to enhance my art and furthered my understating of computers as well. I have often heard and read that “digital art is not art. The computer fixes everything for you.” That's dismissive for both the artist and the machine, for both work in unison to make art. That’s how digital art is born.

Digital Media/ Digital Art is work that is delivered in a digital format or a vessel with electronic elements that displays a work has been created with digital tool. The “Digitalness” can be debated, but not denied if the work has any “digitalness” in its making. Digital art is not here kill traditional drawing and painting, but it is here as another option for those who don’t connect well with the canvas and paint. Digital art is not easier than any other medium, but it is necessary for some artists to bloom.

I’ve often been told I see the world with rose colored glasses and I tend to agree. Places or things that people don’t think are worth looking at or considering are some of my favorite things. I love strange little corners that call to me with a sense of magic, where, I swear, that if you look close enough you’ll see a fairy or someone’s favorite memory. With these photos, I wanted to share with others how I see world around me and that with a little love the most mundane places can become something straight out of a fairytale.

When creating this time lapse, I had a location in mind and not much else. In a suggestion from a friend, i bought some bird seed in order to attract some birds to the location. However, very few bird did come by and those that did only appeared for a short period of time. "Waiting for the Birds" was an experiment with Adobe Premier and most certainly a learning lesson in trying to balance both basic rules or video production and my particular aesthetic.

Lately, school has caused me to experience great anxiousness and fatigue. When paired with personal problems that inevitably happen, I feel like this exhaustion will never end. I’ve been “accused” of having sugar sweet work, but because of the emotional state I’m in my my sugar sweet work has turned into something more bitter sweet. I cannot abandon my love for pastels and very cute girls, instead I just allowed my feelings flow into these things I love so much.
