My name is Alyssa Mercado. I was born in McAllen, raised in Alton, and moved to Mission, Texas when I was 13 years old. I’ve always been artistic and crafty, but I never knew what I wanted to do when I grew up. Before I wanted to be a vet, but as the time of my high school graduation grew closer and closer, that idea faded further and further. I knew I wanted to be a graphic designer when I took a graphic design class my senior year of high school. Now, I’m a 19-year-old sophomore in college with faded, half-dyed hair, a nose ring, and two tattoos taking on the career path to be a graphic designer. Boy, if you had asked me 2 years ago I wouldn’t have told you that I’d be THIS cool!

Digital media is made with digital tools that can be transmitted over the Internet. But, it is also an art form. Digital media is the mixing together of drawing and text. It’s a sketch, a logo, a simple side project. Whatever you need it to be. You can use your digital media to spread a message, make an impact, or simply display your artist skills.
A person who makes artwork using digital technology as their media.
The process of writing code to classify or identify something.
A program used to digitally alter a photo.
A drawing program used in Windows and Macs with sophisticated design properties.
A computer input device that enables an artist to hand-draw with a pen-shapes stylus.
Anything dealing with online documents.
There are many great things about the Rio Grande Valley. The Anzalduas Park, McAllen Convention Center, and South Padre Island are just a few of them. But in my opinion, the greatest things about the Rio Grande Valley is the nature. We have ocelots all the way down to rattlesnakes, aloe vera to palm trees, beaches to barren land. Even with all that, my favorite thing about the RGV will always be, and always has been, the sunsets and sunrises. It’s amazing how many different colors you’ll see. From pinks to purples and blues to yellows. It’s simply breathtaking.
Sunsets are one of the most beautiful things you can see here in the Rio Grande Valley. This timelapse is evidence of that. I've never worked with Premiere before so this is actually a huge accomplishment for me, knowing that I'm able to edit the video to my liking and add my logo in there too.
